I was in heaven but then a real estate deal fell through that I was 100% dependent on to pay my bills. I borrowed the money I needed to jump-start my business from my grandfather and hit the ground running. So I Googled what business/career would afford me control, and flexibility with high earning potential and I came across real estate. But then I realized working for someone else and attaining the financial independence I sought would have to be traded with my time and unproductive meetings. I looked my baby girl in the face and my husband, boyfriend at the time who had been providing financial support, and realized I had wasted a lot of time trying and created a substantial amount of student loan debt with little to show for it.Īt that moment I pivoted and embarked on career paths that aligned with my Bachelor’s in Biology and Master’s of Healthcare Administration degree that could afford the same lifestyle I imagined a career as a pharmacist could provide. I scored horribly on a pharmacy school entrance exam. My goal was to become a pharmacist but I hadn’t done so well balancing being an adventurous 20-something young woman with a baby and being a student.
